In one of my excursions into my parents’ loft I found a red cassette box that could only have held games for a ZX Spectrum. (I found the spectrum as well, but that’s another story.) I’ve always wanted to try out some of the games that are now available online but still be able to wave the cassette and say ‘look, I have the original so it’s fine.’ And now I can!
This is quite a trip down memory lane. But I still remember most of them... The box contains 27 cassettes; a mixture of games and cover tapes from magazines. I can’t remember what the selection process was and why or how these survived the many tidy-ups and purges over the years. They’re an odd combination of some games that I loved and a few that I barely remember. It might simply be that the case didn’t get in the way and was forgotten about. These are all single cassette games, so no fancy double cassette boxes or extra large cardboard affairs. Maybe they’re still buried somewhere. But these are enough to get me started reminiscing…
